About Us

Our Family

There aren't too many locally owned repair shops in Colorado Springs that can say they have over 130 years of combined experience with their technicians. Groff's Automotive is one of those shops that can say that with confidence and back it up with continual training and professionalism.

Cody carter

owner

I’ve spent the past 15 years in the automotive industry, including 13 years helping run our family automotive parts business alongside my father and my wife. During that time, I had the opportunity to work closely with the Groff family for many years, which is ultimately what led me to Groff’s Automotive.

As my father began preparing for retirement, the timing felt right for my family and me to continue the legacy that the Groff family built in this community.

My wife, Amanda, and I have 2 kids, Jojo and Jimmy, and we’ve called Colorado Springs home for the past 13 years. As a husband, father, and local business owner, I understand how important a dependable vehicle is to a family. It’s what keeps everyday life moving.

That’s why I believe an automotive repair shop should be built on honesty, integrity, and doing the right thing for people. We are proud to carry on the Groff’s name in Widefield and continue the tradition of treating customers like neighbors.

My family and I look forward to being part of this community for many years to come.

DAVE

SERVICE MANAGER

I’ve been in the automotive industry for my entire adult life, starting at the age of 19. Done it all, from lube tech to tire tech, then to full-on automotive technician. Those experiences were the first phase of my career.

From there, the company I worked for saw me as very successful in people skills, so they suggested I give management a try. I then found that to be my calling in this industry. And am very good at communication with the customers’ needs and wants, and try to make the experience of vehicle repairs feel easier than most, I think.

That’s why, in my personal opinion, customers need. I have met a lot of people and friends that I still have today just by understanding some of the pains of automotive repairs, putting myself in the position, and respecting that not everyone can afford most vehicle repairs. I try to make it as painless as possible. And that, I believe, makes me great at what I do.

I have 3 children of my own who have to have repairs done as well. Proud dad and grandpa to 7 grandchildren. Helping people get their vehicles repaired makes me happy. That’s why, in the last 34 years, Groffs Automotive is only the second job I’ve ever had. And I don’t even consider it a job, but a privilege to help others in need and being around a group of people who feel the same way.

Groffs is like my family when I’m away from my own for the day, as well as all of our customers.
